Instructions for Basic English Learners

What is a noun?
A noun is a word that names a person, place, animal, thing, or idea.

Examples:

• Person → teacher, Rahul, mother
• Place → school, Ahmedabad, park
• Animal → dog, cat, lion
• Thing → book, table, phone
• Idea/feeling → love, happiness, friendship

✏️ Exercise 1: Find the Nouns

Instruction: Read each sentence carefully and underline the nouns.

1. The boy has a book.
2. My mother is in the kitchen.
3. The dog is playing with a ball.
4. Rahul goes to school every day.
5. The teacher has a pen.
6. I have a new phone.
7. The cat is sitting on the chair.
